“There will be no corrective measures.” With these words, the Minister of Economy, Giancarlo Giorgetti, in a video call, closed the Teha Forum in Cernobbio on September 7, reassuring that the Italian public accounts do not require new sacrifices.
“As I have always done in these three years – he explained – I work seriously and pragmatically based on the available data. And the numbers, confirmed by the Revenue Agency, say that Italy is among the few European countries that consistently comply with EU rules, after having harshly criticized them”.
The Minister of Economy recalled that, unlike in the past, the next budget law will not be accompanied by corrections imposed by the state of the accounts. “This year, no corrective measures are needed because the estimates made are proving to be correct. We had already taken into account the slowdown due to the trade war triggered by the U.S. administration and set growth at 0.6%”.
