Italy women's national volleyball team

At 40 years old, after a long disqualification, Alex Schwazer is back to competing and impressing. In Bolzano, in the 10,000 meters race walk, he recorded the fourth fastest Italian time ever with 38’34’’07, setting the European master record and improving his personal best after 14 years. “A great satisfaction,” commented the South Tyrolean race walker, who has no future career prospects but has once again demonstrated strength and pride.

Women's Volleyball: Italy on top of the world

The Italian volleyball team made history: world champions for the second time, 23 years after their first triumph. In Bangkok, Julio Velasco's team defeated Turkey 3-2 in a thrilling final, achieving their 36th consecutive victory. Alessia Orro was named the best player of the tournament, while captain Anna Danesi led a group that showed resilience and character. For Italy, it is yet another confirmation in an extraordinary cycle that has already delivered Olympic gold and two Nations Leagues.

Ferrari, another missed opportunity at Monza

On the Monza circuit, the Italian Grand Prix ended with yet another disappointment for Ferrari. The winner was Max Verstappen, achieving his third victory at the temple of speed. Despite the enthusiasm of the crowd, the Reds remain far from the top step of the podium, with Red Bull and McLaren increasingly dominating the championship.

Basketball, Italy out of the European Championship

The European dream of the national basketball team fades: in the round of 16, Pozzecco's team was defeated 84-77 by Slovenia's Luka Doncic, who scored 42 points. Italy fought until the end, coming back from -19 to -3, but failed to complete the feat.

US Open, Alcaraz stops Sinner

In the New York final, Carlos Alcaraz defeated Jannik Sinner in four sets (2-6, 6-3, 1-6, 4-6), reclaiming the US Open title and the top spot in the world rankings.
